It won't jump on you and try to eat you little shop of horrors style, but eating anything from the plant is a trip to A&E bad idea.
As long as the small child won't try to eat leaves or berries it will be OK.
Lots of garden plants are toxic and my son never tried to eat any but some pets and kids love experimenting... :)

Hmmm, presumably only toxic if we eat them? Have a small child, but he doesn’t eat anything green.
