On this occasion I got these 1” spacers from ultraturn on eBay. Pretty sure most / all 1” alu spacers have the same OD as the steel 1 1/8” bullmoose. Tester another good source!

I finally took a couple of days off to buy Tijmens Kona and creditcard bikepack (tm) it back to Berlin from Leipzig.
Also finally got the genesis CDA gravel project finished and rideable and took it on an inaugural short muddy ride last Sunday.
Fun!

I guess this is as good a place as any. Is there a go to tape for frame protection (transparent)? Tesa / 3m? I’d rather a tape than a sticker patch

The bars rotated so I'll have to rotate them back and yank on the bolts a bit more.
Also find the paint horrid. Still contemplating what to do, because I don't want to put toooo much effort into such an entry level frame. All the outdated standards; qr, cable actuated hyrds and 11speed rival.
Like the cranks, rotor subsub compact 46-30 OEM jobbys. Also rival long cage mech clears 36tooth rear with the b-screw in to the max and then some by removing the plastic washer that it came with.
Jaw fd was a pig to set up. -

I'm confused, that's a 1 1/8" steerer right? But you have 1" spacers on it?

So there was a better place to ask. Thanks

I'm lazy, I would run a continuous outer.
The feel is not fantastic,
but I could still lock the rear wheel when needed off road. -

Looks good! I ended up swapping my yaw FD for a 105, much better.

That is on my list of alternate ideas if the band-on stop doesn't work. I would expect that a BMX compressionless outer would help with the brake feel in that case. Is that what you used?

I used basic outer, no feel but very functional.

In y’all’s opinion, what is the best mid-range mechanical road groupset? My BMC Team Machine SLR01 from 2011? is equipped with Dura-Ace 7970 Di2. The rear derailleur is broken. I wanted to keep it the same but 7970 rear derailleurs on eBay go for so much. I just found one for $300, I’m broke tho so no no. My plan is to get a new groupset for it when the time is right. Will there be mechanical issues for a new drivetrain on a over decade old road bike? I purchased it second hand years ago, gave it to my brother, he crashed it pretty bad after maybe a week or two, replaced a bunch of small parts, cockpit and saddle. The bike shop informed me about the rear derailleur issue when I picked it up, and recommended I go to R&A cycles in Brooklyn as they carry a lot of older components. The bike just sat in my house, then I got hit by two cars last year, fixie disappeared, decided I’d use the BMC as a recovery home trainer bike. I could go low end, cheapy but I can hold out and save a little more than usual, hence mid-range groupset hunt. I only have a picture of it from when I first purchased.

Needs new bar tape, but otherwise pretty sound.

Sounds good!
Should be fine. Use some tube/ rubber based shims and it wouldn't budge.
