In my experience there's pretty much always a space available at the Platform 8 ones, I generally come in for 8am and there's good space around then. Lots of people like me leave a beater there overnight and ride it in to work in the day so that makes up for people coming into the station and leaving bikes there during the day.

Thanks for this very helpful, is it ok to leave a nice but not too nice single speed there during the day? Probably returning to London around 9ish?

I think you should be ok, the advantage with the Paddington ones is they're on the platforms so there's a lot of footfall around them all through the day. I heard a stat (no idea if it's genuine or not), that a bike with a Gold rated lock has never been reported stolen from a London station because there'll always be one locked up with a lock made of cheese that thieves will go for instead. My bike is a scabby old beater locked up with a good lock and has lived at Paddington since 2019 (including months through Covid when I wasn't riding it) with no issues. A few times I've accidentally left lights and/or my helmet on it overnight and found them still there the next day too.

Thanks, i'll give it a go tomorrow.
Does anyone know what time the bicycle racks fill up by at paddington? If I got there at 7.30am, would there still be space?
Thanks
