• So it's basically a 2-day stage race. I'd definitely be swapping in and out both days.

    From experience in 6hr pairs at Brighton Big Dog, 25 mins "out" doesn't give much time to find food and drink, have a shit and actually sit down and try and recover. Double laps better.

  • Yeah. That was sort of my thoughts as well, but people that have done it say it's easier to stay warm and alert if the swapping mode is one lap, plus the overalls stay faster.

  • You need to have a quick chat if you want a longer stop for some reason you can try and plan it. When we were racing 24hrs we'd maybe look at who was riding faster or if someone was tired or injured we'd sit them out for a rotation and someone else would do a double lap.

    I guess it's only 2x6hrs so you're less likely to be too fucked to push fast doubles so singles might be faster. There can be time lost to swapping though, so factor that in. Also, sometimes one of you might be in a good bunch or be chasing down a rival team and not want to swap, so you should remain flexible for when your mate just rides on past or whatever :)
