Sorry in advance - there are going to be loads of questions here. Bucket list ride for me (once the kids are grown up).
Did you tour it, or ‘race’ it? As part of the Tour Divide?

I missed the Grand Depart due to work reasons and set off too late in the year. By that time pretty much all of Canada and North America had serious forest fires. It was quite intense experiencing blasts of hot thermals and embers late into the night.
The scenery on GDMBR is achingly beautiful. Also pretty hard to convey how isolated it gets, I often went days without seeing a single person. -

Any interest before I pull on here and put it on Evilbay?

Interest, yes. Funds, no.

Don't let my powerful build deceive you.

Maybe it's just the pictures, but I'd agree with Platypus that it looks smaller than the large. All the larges I've seen have an enormous headtube, and the seatclamp sits above a 29er rear tyre... 🤔

Thanks, probably looks smaller with the frame bag.
Also the enormous head tube is necessary for fitting the truss fork as your two photos illustrate. -

If I sold all my bikes, maybe I could afford this...

would love to see you race a national trophy on this...

Doesn't 'all my bikes' include a Jones, albeit in steel (which lends itself far more easily to the addition of rack mounts by Argos)?
Come on, man
-

I'm not going to buy it. I'd have to sell my automobile as well as all my bicycles. Would have good amount of room for mud around 33mm tyres though.

Come and check it out :)

Thankfully you'd be a 4 hour round trip so curiosity can't get the better of me. Have a bump though.

Hello Spares,
Just sent you a message.
I am confused: is it a 24" (m) or a 25" (l)?
What is your length? Btw. This is my dented and rusty 24".I may need a replacement soon.

Not received your message- its a 25
If you are (as your user name suggests) a fellow Baliwick resident then happy to do a deal ! -

Hello! No, I'm not from the isles. It's just my name :-). Its one of them odd names originally from the Caucasus.
Have you looked at your messages? Thats odd..
Regarding the pictures. I must agree with Scott (black rainbow project) : Your bicycle honestly looks like a 24". What is your total Body length?
A 25" is sadly to large for me.I was already getting my hopes up..
What can you tell about the rear hub and the Brakes?Cheers!

I think I've seen this bike in person.
If it is indeed the same bike, this is a bloody bargain!

Ok both of your messages came through eventually.
Far be it for me to fly in the face of public opinion but I'm convinced that it's a 25.
Sure, I spoke to Jeff on the phone about it back in the day (phone call cost nearly as much as the frame), will measure tomorrow. Im 5 11 if that helps. No cracks or dents.
Rear hub is DT swiss 350
Brakes are Shimano XT -

Good evening Spares,
The bike spec list sounds exactly like mine. 350 rear, XT, the Son hub I never got to.
Regarding your length: I am 5ft 11 as well (179cm)!. Which must be a good omen! I am interested in your bike! This makes me wonder about sizing. You went for a 25". Whilst I after talking to Jeff himself, ages ago, I was recommended a 24. (yes, a rather expensive call!)
Have you perhaps measured the head tube?
What size stem are you riding?May I ask if you are based in Guernsey or elswhere in the UK?
I am asking regarding a potential pick up, since now I'm curious.I will send my Email and phonenumber in the PM section.
Lets have a chat and I can plan a potential collection.have a good evening.
