Oh nice, looking great. Best of luck fitting new wheel bearings without scratching them. What tyres are you thinking?

Done!
Cycle press works perfectly.
I went with pilot power 3 on front and 2CT on rear.
I like the manners of the power 3 in the wet and how the 2ct tips for the rear.

Nice, they looks super neat with everything mounted.

Choosing colours is way too hard for my scatter mindset. Like choosing cereal at a massive supermarket. Just can’t do it.
Let’s see how they look on the bike first. -

I have a very very small bit of inheritance. So far managed not to blow it on fixed gear bicycles.
Trying and failing to find a suitable and local (within 100 mile round trip from Swindon) trials or enduro.
Relatively specific, should be an older twin/mono trials suitable for green lanes as well as trials. Or, an older enduro that was basically a trials bike with a bigger tank.
Can't find any Suzuki Beamish or Yamaha TY, or Honda TL/TLM nearby. Can't find anything else similar.
There was a Suzuki TS125r not too far away, but that's just a pokey baby 2T, and probably not a big enough engine to satisfy me... considering I already own the heavy DR350, and a 2016 Sherco ST300.
Not sure what my options are closer to crossers, and I don't think they'd suit me. I want to climb narrow rutted hills, not bomb along dunes.
I want to do that with something with a bigger fuel capacity than my ST300... but I guess I could just look at a second similar ST, and fork out for a long range tank. Boo.

I kinda get how you feel....I love my gs550, the look, the sound, the riding when I'm out in the middle of no where peak summer.
But I do not like how problematic and temperamental old bikes are some times and really puts me off...i know that's the charm sometimes but with limited free time / money it's a hard frivolous item to have some times.
And the fact I love riding / fixing bicycles too much most of the times takes priority

Had a test ride on a Zero FXE last Friday and holy smokes it was a lot of fun!
It's revitalised my want for an E-Moto in a big way and I'm flip-flopping between just buying a Zero at some stage and finding a rolling chassis to convert...

I thought the problem with Zero is they are locked down tech so all maintenance needs to be done by Zero and you're hostage to the dealership pricing.
If you're going to keep upgrading them that's possibly less of a problem.

Anybody know if there’s anywhere safe to park a bike close to the Irish Cultural Centre in Hammersmith?
-
• #23136
That's a bit unfair on the Irish? :)

Been thinking about this one but don't know enough about this segment of the market to advise. My initial reaction was to say a 2 stroke enduro bike but not sure that's quite right or too similar to what you have already.

Vespa PX?
-
• #23139
Yea I’ve come full circle, that cost/risk/availability with a vintage twinshock/mono, I could buy a second modern trials and lots of fuel

Don't know what your budget is like, but KDX220s are worth a look - they're really good!
More money, KTM 200exc or any of the European enduro bikes.Avoid the crossers, they can make good trail bikes, but the gearing isn't ideal, the suspension is all wrong and the power is explosive, even with flywheel weights and a fatty pipe.

• #23141
Ohhh KDX220 is right on the money. But I might have to pack in the idea and spend the budget on a new embroidery machine like a grown-up.

More conventional manual.

A friend has been trying to get rid of a beta 200 (an alp iirc) for ages, south east London though unfortunately.

I know I was warned previously but an itch is being scratched with this. Flame away!

That’s probably too close to the DR (heavy/no power).
-
• #23146
Whenever I start looking at these I realise it's time to go on a diet 😀
-
• #23147
You know what though, HDs are cool even if they are easy to poke fun at...
Any plans for it or just enjoy it as is?
-
• #23148
Enjoy it as it is. Take the engine bars off, general service and probably new rubber and little else. I’ve no plans to tune it up any stages or change it up to 1200cc. ULEZ clearance being done on Friday so that’ll be the first chunk of cash out; £350ish.
Dieting would be the wrong move, I need the bulk to push it around my front yard :)

Harsh, but fair
I have the same thought about the GS

Enjoy, plenty of fun to be had on a Harley.
Hit me up with a PM about location and cost. It’s not for me, but enquiring on behalf of someone.
Anyway, fresh out of the booth! Wanted them a flat grey years ago. But it’s bloody everywhere these days so just asked them for whatever light silver they have.
