• I'm having trouble with calculators: I'm building Superstar Pave Ultra (rim brake) rims on old Hope Pro 2 disc hubs.

Rims are 585mm ERD (measured with two 200mm spokes), which matches published ERD. I need to double check the hubs but using published figures for now.

Front - Left PCD 56mm, right PCD 54mm, centre to left flange 20mm, centre to right 33mm.
Rear - Left PCD 56mm, right PCD 54mm, centre to left flange 33mm, centre to right 20mm.

    DT calculator gives front 268mm & 270mm, rear 270mm, 268mm
    Edd gives front 284mm & 284mm, rear 284mm, 284mm
    Spokecalc(Roger Musson) gives front 282mm & 284mm, rear 284mm, 282mm
    Pro Wheelbuilder gives front 282mm & 284mm, rear 284mm, 284mm

Who is right, I tend to trust Roger usually but I've never had DT being so far out? Is it safe enough to go 284mm all around?

  • Did you find the published dimensions and manually enter them into each calculator or did you look them up on each calculator?

I've seen measurements show up the wrong way around ie the measurement the locknut in to the flange entered where it was looking for centre out to flange before.
