With the stem about this time last year i actually won a custom steel stem from August bicycles sprayed by Quintessential customs. I could have had a lovely fillet brazed 1 inch steerer 60mm stack stem with side bolt in any finish like this one which would have looked amazing with the perfect stack no shim or obviously protruding bolt for free. I already had the Sim works and it seemed excessive at the time to have a second stem specifically made for a bike that i didn't have yet and was already uncertain was actually going to come off as I'd already had two delay notifications by then so I offered the prize back with everything else at the time.

I've done this a lot with a DeRosa, getting the stem headset interface looking nice is a challenge.
This is a good combo in my opinion.
