Might just buy some canned air for that purpose. It’s a massive PITA and frankly dangerous that they’re inoperable .

check the pipes also - happened to me once that a pipe had become disconnected and the pump was just distributing my washer fluid all over the tarmac

Yeah that was my first check - that it wasn’t making a pool of fluid somewhere! My e46 rear hose has popped off a couple times.
