Nuts, just went to replace the cartridge on my Technics 1300 with a new VM95E and one of the headshell leads disintegrated. Taking a closer look the other 3 the connectors are all looking rough. At some point in my youth i've replaced the OG headshell with newer 1200 model that i think is legit but has some oxidisation on the coupling rubber washer and could still be a fake. Sadly i have no idea where the original headshell is now.
Given that i've just upgraded amp, cables and cartrdige would now be the time to replace the headshell? Or should i keep the 1200 headshell as it was working (no idea how well) and invest in something like these cables?
