I tried Rogate B1kepark at the weekend. Nice little place! Walk up really isn't bad and a few challenging mixed runs in not much space! Anyone been?
I did not do the DMR line.

I have been there too around this time of year and hated it, so much smoke everywhere, the air quality there is now worse than New Delhi.

No, but I really should given I live nearby.
Is it jumpy?
-
• #26305
Only at the bottom. Techy tops, jumpy flat bit at the very bottom on most runs. Quite a high percentage of case-able table tops!

Indeed, I'll go back later this year when the place isn't on fire.

One of my favourite parts of the world. Always went in non toxic season though. Proper great riding.
Further north is way more wild. On the way to Mae Hong Son -

Is anyone going to the UCI MTB World Cup in Val Di Sole, Trentino, Italy around 30th June to 2nd July?
I'm taking a road bike and plan on cycling for 2 weeks in the lakes and mountains of northern Italy. I'll be based in Bormio and have a car so will be travelling around, but am meeting with mates to watch and cheer on their son who is in the yoof downhill WC at Val Di Sole, and assuming he hasn't already destroyed one of his bikes in the previous rounds, I was hoping to blag his spare bike and do a day or two of MTB'ing around there.

So far I think weekend riding is going to be Batam (Badak and whatever the other park is called), Bukit Timah/Chestnut, and then for long weekend type stuff Chiang Mai sort of area, maybe Lombok also.

I ask this every few months, but does anyone know if/when Aston Hill is going to be back?

I'm in Scotland riding next week, and the weather is meant to be wall to wall sunshine and 18⁰ all week. The planet is broken, but I'll forget about that for 5 days

Yeah not much opportunity to practice riding wet rocks here, but nice to not have mud in my eyes.
Enjoy Scotland! Sun and no midges, all time.

Come and live in the Netherlands; we have no mountains whatsoever, we have ver my little nature that’s not farmland, but you can ride in sub zero temps just after sunrise in January without anyone around 👍🏻

Guy cuts steerer too short, creates company selling $400 stems to compensate?

I have a mullet wheelset, DTSwiss 240S centre lock hubs, CX-rays, Light Bicycle rims, the rear has a Rimpact insert, a Maxxis Dissector, an XTR cassette and a Magura MDR-P rotor, and is used.
The front has never been used, and is 240S/CX-Rays/Light Bicycle rim. Both rims are 30mm internal, rear is 27.5 and the front is 29. These cost quite a bit and I'm tempted to keep them, but is anyone interested before I commit to shipping them?

Might be interested but I’m guessing you rather sell the whole lot together rather just the bare wheels?

For MTB’ing, I was floored by the riding around Ban Pa Kham. Proper jungle terrain. Bikes were a bit poor though since I rented.
Done parts of that loop on mopeds. Brother was living in the far north and he had know how on some spectacular loops.
It’s 100% worth it, especially at a chill pace.
They weren’t kidding when they called it the Golden Triangle. -

Rode the canyon stoic at the weekend (second ride ever on that bike, 3rd off-road ride in 18 months), xc race at the local trail centre, which has been expanded considerably since I last rode there in 2021. There was a hell of a lot of elevation that would probably have been much easier on a carbon xc bike, but I was glad to be on a trail bike for the downhill bits.
Given it’s a once a year event it would be difficult to justify a dedicated xc bike, but the stoic performed admirably on the day. I managed 4th overall out of about 30 starters in the one lap race, 1st and 2nd place were on carbon xc bikes, 3rd was on a nukeproof scout.

I got roped into doing a 2 man team 12hr marathon XC thing coming weekend ... It'll be cold and dark and I've never raced before so I'm bricking it. The way the event works is that they ride 2pm till 8pm and the resume the next day for the remaining half. Not sure if that's better or worse tbh
@cheekysnaker Many thanks, I will go for the 200mm travel then.
