So I've put 30 miles on the Soma since changing the rack to the lowrider - the bike is transformed. I'm really surprised by how negatively that larger rack affected the bike's handle low speed no hands tracking. Much better now. No notable shimmy anymore, either.

What era is the Panasonic frame? How straightforward / successful is converting frames to take disc brakes? Maybe there's a thread about that already somewhere.

Super happy with the bike, it's a so called keeper.
The triple butted Tange Ultralight tubing is quite nice.
