Yeah I was wondering about that. I was planning to go square-taper, for the axle-length flexibility, and hope I can get some cranks in close enough before hitting the chain stay.

I'd be keen. What size is it? Also, what was the clearance like with the mudguards?
-
• #681
It's a large.
Those are 33.3 Jack Browns, I dare say 35mm slick at most (can't say better than that at the moment as the back is rubbing horribly because I lost the brake bridge).

Yeah midnight Special fork and I’m not sure what brake is in that photos, but he’s got a klamper on it now I think.

Cheers for thinking of me! I've actually picked up a Day One one, which im currently waiting on a wheel set for.

I did try to UTFS on this thread but weirdly couldn’t find anything:
What kind of gear inches do I want to be pushing on a rad fixed pengycross rig?
My track bike is 70something when I’m riding it on the road, but I’m assuming a fair bit lower off-road? I’ve currently got a 44t chainring and sprockets 14 thru 18. Hoping I can assemble something useful out of that…

Ah ok, cheers. yes that sounds about right. I was just playing around with bikecalc, and it looks like need to get myself a 19 or 20 cog, or get a smaller chainring.

63 is a decent all around gear. If you have the ability on your rear hub spin a cog on the other side for off road. My best fixed off-roaders use ~63 for a primary get around gear and in the mid 50s for trail gear. It’s steep and twisty in the single track here.

I run 42-19 with 700x34c (60 1/4”) on the pest, spiny as all fuck on the road, but perfect for SFAB and playing in the woods.

That’s a jealousy-inducing way home from work!
I guess not! :-)
shame as it does indeed look like a 52ish and is nicely ratty!
