Partly as a counter to @TW, my 2-pence worth.
We had many normal steam irons until a couple of years ago. We then bought a Bosch steam generator iron which was great until the tank started leaking. As it was end of sale we were given a refund and bought a Morphy Richards steam generator iron instead. That is a bit rattling/noisy when some sort of pump runs periodically but is otherwise fine. Both are so much better to use for ironing, I'll never buy another non steam-generator iron again. Can't really help pick between specific models though as I haven't tried many.
Also ironing bedding?
