  • Getting a full suite of new windows for our house installed next week, queue much excitement and feeling of future warmth and soundproofing.

However we've just been asked to pay the full cost upfront before installation. Seems a bit unusual to me? We obviously paid a deposit a while ago for this purpose. It's with Wandsworth Sash Windows so I'm sure it'll be legit but it just seems a bit off to me to ask for everything before any work has been done to our property. Am I being unreasonable? They've threatened to cancel the installation next week if its not paid immediately.

  • Wandsworth Sash Windows

    on NCN21!

I mean, if the windows are bespoke to your property, that would be a very silly thing to do as it would leave them with a load of unusable stock.

Agree with @skinny - what does the contract say?

  • Seems common for windows and doors ro turn up damaged, I get 50 up front but full balance before installation is a warning signal and should have been highlighted when you paid your deposit.

That’s a bit of a red flag imho.
