Not to get all armchair psychologist about it but it seems like a really obvious patern doesn't it?
Man who is plausibly a relatively low level employee has a community where he is seen as a father figure. He then divulges classified information to improve his standing in his group.

Short version; racist christian gun-enthusiast military intelligence analyst got pissed his gamer friends weren't interested in his write ups and commentary of classified intel he'd seen, so just started taking photos of it instead.
