We've got another floor. Although it will be largely full of the stuff from the ground floor.
Total time for the floor and associated works is 2wks...which is a lot of money on a hotel. There is only part of a wall coming down, so it's not a huge amount of work and dust - or for that long.
- Half a wall down
- Plaster a ceiling and fill the void(?) from the wall removal
- Remove existing floor tiles
- Radiators x2
- Self level (the absolutely must be out for 24hrs period)
- Lay floor and skirting
- Redecorating (us)
the stuff you didn’t know you needed
This is the main thing that worries me. Even when you check I worry there will be a Colombo, just one more thing, that will be a blocker and take forever to source.
- Half a wall down
As someone who’s 2/3 of the way through something similar, the thought of living in the building at the same time gives me the fear. It would have to be a big place with another floor to retreat to.
As to the planning? It’s all in my head apart from budgets estimated beforehand and continued prompts from my partner asking if I have spoken to electrician/tiler/plumber etc.
don’t underestimate the research/sourcing time for all the stuff you want and the stuff you didn’t know you needed.
