They're getting harder and harder to find now - it's actually cheaper to run a 12 speed setup with Shimano cassettes and chains when an eTap 11s mech (A2) goes for £500 and front mech for £350. There's a TT setup going for £950 on FB which might be useful.

I've got Red etap 11speed shifters, rear derailleur and a brand new in box front derailleur, plus a pair of non series SRAM calipers if you want to chat.
All in very nice condition. -

Does this combo work fine? I presume you need 12s SRAM RD + 12s SRAM cranks and then Shimano 12s chain and cassette?

In my experience 12s chains work fine on 11s chainrings (Rotor/Shimano/SRAM). However, front mech setup is tricky, and you might need to file out the slot in the front derailleur mount to enable it to move further up depending on the size of chainring you are running.

Thanks for all the replies to date. Does anyone happen to know whether the SRAM software update that allows the AXS 12s Blip Box to work with 11s set-ups (which I presume to mean SRAM 22 eTap derailleurs and an 11s cassette) means that an AXS road group set (with DoubleTap shifters, no Blip Box) can also have a software "downgrade" to work with 11s wheels? I can see the obvious problem might be that the downsizing of the AXS drive train means the FD might struggle with "normal" compact chainrings (or non-compact for that matter), but does anyone have any experience or links that discuss this hack?

Derailleurs are 11 and 12 speed specific, while 12s shifters can pair with 11s derailleurs. Which is why the 11 speed mechs have become so precious. For the front mech setup, the key thing is clearance to the chainring and the yaw angle setup - needs a bit of fiddling.

Appreciate the heads-up. Sadly, I don't really want to go hydraulic, but GLWS!

I could be interested, although the crankset might be too long. Let’s talk over PM?

All sorted now - thanks to everyone who got in touch..
Anyone got any first-generation 11s (ie SRAM 22) eTap groupsets or parts that they're thinking of selling (due to upgrading or other change of circumstance)?
If so, please give me a shout..
