  • is anyone on here familiar with M365 admin portal, and domain/email migration from a webmail setup?

(or is there a better thread to ask in?)

    Thanks

  • Yes I've done a few. Happy to answer any questions

  • Does anyone have a single slot, low profile GPU that they're not using?

I'd be using in an old hp sff pc for maybe some kiddy gaming but mainly zwifting

  • I have a spare RX 580, not single slot or low profile, but ITX single fan, if you can stretch?

  • I do have a different PC I could use and that would fit in there. How much are you looking for? Send me a PM if you prefer. thanks

  • Looking at ebay they are going for 65-90 ish, most nearer the lower end so wouldn't be fair to ask more than £50, but for that price I may just hold on to it as its a rare ITX OEM variant.
Sorry (thought they were still going for lots more).

  • No worries. Does anyone else have anything?

  • Is there a reliable solution to replace a USB A cable with a wireless connection?

Looking to wirelessly connect a niche CNC paper cutter (Intec FB900) to my win11 pro laptop instead of the 8m long USB A booster cable thing I’m currently using. I have an Eero Pro in the room and could add another next to the device if that was the start to making a solution.

  • Well this is a fascinating device: https://www.asus.com/displays-desktops/mini-pcs/pl-series/mini-pc-pl64/

    A totally fanless i5 or i7, with 4 ethernet ports, WiFi 6, and 5 USB-A ports.

Also tested for high temp environments, high humidity, low temp environments, etc... because it's designed to cheaply run digital signage and video things and can drive 3 HDMI displays.

    It's all kinds of weird.

Great use-cases I can think of:

    • Media PC (because it's actually very capable with video, as well as able to drive multiple monitors/screens)
    • Networking PC for VPN and firewall (because of the decent CPU and 4 x ethernet)
  • I have a variety of PCs and laptops to get rid of (anyone who is interested in a HP Microserver, X220 laptop, 4th gen i5 desktop or a silent media PC/plex server give me a shout).

Before getting rid of them though I'd like to back up the drives into some kind of format that will allow me to run them on a virtual machine if anyone has any suggestions?

Either Windows software that runs on the machine to be backed up or something on a separate machine (so plug in the drive) or a LiveUSB.

  • HP Microserver

    What gen/model pls ?

  • I need to get some pics of my bank statement, yes Im aware I can take pictures with another phone but I live and work alone atm.
Im with nationwide and cant search by transaction online, just my phone which wont screen shot due to security. Im sure some of you are familiar.
What can I use to broadcast my screen by cable? Will that even work or do I need to someone over to take pics for me?
Win 10, Android (Im not sure which, says A225BXXU5WB6)

  • HP ProLiant Turion II N40L MicroServer

Free to a good home for a forum donation.

  • Thanks but I already have one of those, was hoping for a later model tbh.

For anyone else - still works fine as a NAS, using UNRAID with mine. Properly solid.

  • I'm interested in the GTX 1080 - I've sent you a PM

  • Thanks - I'm away from home atm, I'll get back to next week if thats ok?

  • yep no worries, thanks

  • Windows

I've got an old External HDD and plugging it in reveals no files.

Show hidden files and I can see some stuff. Explorer reckons 19,000 files.

But scanning the drive with MS Defender shows the file count at 345,000 and counting so I presume there's more files I can't see somewhere.

Doesn't appear to be encrypted or anything. Looks like I must've loaned it to someone at some point as it has their name on a folder. Any ideas? Maybe the counts are right, it's just files/folders are owned by another user so Explorer isn't counting them?

Actually, it's FAT32 and doesn't appear to have file permissions anyway so hmm

  • Ah, Defender scans in zip files, so it could be totally legit file counts, it's just scanning contents of zips whereas Explorer is reporting on zips. Right, that's ok. I just don't want to blast the drive if there's some sekretz on it.

  • Got my partner's old 128GB SSD HDD sat here.

Can you get caddies for these to turn it into a small portable storage thingiebob?
