Ta for all the responses - at least it isn’t just me (and makes me think I’m being optimistic if I hope that a different bike wouldn’t have the same problems!)
I’ve had knee issues so am probably less willing to accommodate obstructions to a perfect pedal stroke than most, which doesn’t help
