• How do all you people using front mounted seats get on with knees bumping the seat / kid? I used to have a front Hamax on a Brother Big Bro but found it ruined my pedal stroke which wrecked my knees - was i just unlucky or are you all just putting up with it?

  • Thule Yepp Next Mini doesn't cause any knee issues for me, but it is on a Voodoo 29er MTB so geometry might be quite different.

Now my daughter is 2, her head was getting very close to my chin though, which I've resolved by fitting Mollymawk bars with tonnes of backsweep.

  • I came to the conclusion that there was no way of riding without kneeing them to death and constantly getting back-headbutted in the face. So I got a Hamax and that didn’t have any of those problems.

  • I am short and ride small bikes so my knees do bump the Yepp mini, but we don’t ride far or fast on this bike so it’s annoying but bearable, I just have to stick my knees out. As above, I think on medium size frames upwards it wouldn’t be a problem.

Also yes the Yepp mini does limit bar rotation but again you get used to it. I think having the child seat at the front is definitely preferable to the back, until she gets too big - easier to get on and off, less wheelie prone, and more fun for the little one.
