Nah. Mvdp was half wheeling his team mate who veered sideways and rather than backing off he also went sideways in to dege. Fault is all with mvdp.

When the rider in front swerves (as will happen on bad pave), you swerve. Tough shit to the guy on your wheel, they should have been leading if they wanted a clear run.

That's just not true. I dunno how many times you've been able to brake in time and stop sensibly at 50kph when the guy half in front suddenly swerves but I've never seen it. Swerving with them is the safest option.

You don't see that? His front wheel is coming up level with Philpsen when he swings right. It's not like he'd need to stop, just scrub a little speed, instead he decided to keep his speed, move sideways and in doing so pushed Dege off the road. He went for a gap which closed, I'm not saying he intentionally pushed Dege off but it's still his fault.

MVDP and Degy both had gaps and they were both going for them as is their god given right. Jasper decides he wants the smooth hardpack and closes both gaps. Blame Jasper if you like, but leave MVDP out of this. He’s innocent.
