I used it most of the way across America during Trans Am before realising "fuck this is a UK Amex you idiot, you don't just get free exchange rate doovawackies" and copped a bunch of fees for every gas station I'd used it in. Hence the Revolut for travel. Although they just posted some shit about fees and I've never done the maths to see if they do compare better or worse than Monzo etc so who fucking knows.
The promise of the HSBC Global Money card is fee-free, Mastercard (IIRC) exchange rate at time of purchase. Then HSBC fuck it up when you try to use it.
