HSBC are shit for travel - they always blocked my cards. I use my two Revolut cards these days. The twin cards are great because I can leave one in my normal wallet and leave one in my cycling wallet.

I'm getting sick of 2FA so I might ditch my Amex just because it's a ballache to pay. I wonder if you can set direct debit for the full amount?

For Amex? Yes you can.
It can be a pain sometimes when some stores don’t accept it but we persevere for the avios as that’s getting us to Japan and back in business class

I don't remember ever seeing it. I'll have to have a poke around.
I was thinking of killing it off anyway, it's just £250/year and admin overhead for a couple of companion voucher free flights or whatever. If I could make the admin go away I might keep it. I don't use it much though.
