    Nice solution for getting rid of the horrible stock stem situation.

    Just for reference if anybody is trying to do the same….
    Chris king headset cups are exactly the same top and bottom so there no need to have upside down logos.

    The solution I came up with was to get an extra Chris king bearing top cap to put on the bottom of half HS cup, essentially making two top half’s of headset.

    Then you just need a new longer steerer tube, long spacer and any stem.
    Or a fancy bespoke steerer stem combo if you fancy….

    This can be pre tensioned from either the top or bottom.

  • Whilst that's probably fine on a cargo where the steerer isn't actually the fork so pretty low stress, top cap bolts are only for setting bearing preload before stem bolts are tightened. I wouldn't like to rely on one to hold the whole steerer on.
