Did the printer advise the pattern inside? It would probably print fine without and would be cheaper

Not sure it'll be as solid as a casted piece w/o the extra material on the inside

I think it's usually for support during printing, not to add strength. The walls look at least 1.0mm thick so it'd be plenty strong I should think.
