I rode the bit to burton bradstock the day before yesterday. It’s wonderful and pretty much totally flat at the start. The bit around Wool and Morton is gorgeous then the hill out of martinstown up to Hardy’s monument is quite a climb (but worth it).
Then the valley after that is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. Stop at the modbury farm shop to get some raw milk.
I’m not so sure on the bit after that to Lyme but have ridden it before and it’s nice but increasingly hilly.
If you have a low gear you’ll enjoy all of it

You'll be fine on that route tyres-wise. Its mostly on-road between Dorchester and Bridport. The green section by Maiden Castle is loose gravel/mud. You could add this section for more views of Chesil beach, it is off-road, just after Hardy's Monument https://www.strava.com/segments/3541691
There's a National Cycle Route 2 in West Dorset which I'm looking to use to get from Wareham to Lyme Regis. Any thoughts or feelings on whether it's best course for a loaded bike with fat(ish) tyres
