Are there any other names for an automatic watch? Is that the right definition for a seconds hand that moves continuously?

You thinking of a rolex? Their hands don't actually spin without stopping it just does tiny jumps

Some people refer to automatic watches as self winding, too. But I think you're looking for 'mechanical'. As that covers automatic/self winding and also hand wound movements.
