• I definitely get the attraction of gravel bikes for people getting into cycling, and sportive style events to an extent. But not sure Valverde sitting on a Canyon bike in promo shots and doing a US gravel race will sell many bikes. Particularly when the bike looks that uncomfortable with narrow drops, turned in hoods, etc.

    Do you think road bikes would sell nearly so well if it wasn't for brands making inspirational style ads with their pro riders sitting on uncomfy looking bikes?

  • Haha true, but it fits the form, this bike is uncompromising but fast, it's not for comfort, it's to cross the line first. Where as gravel bikes should be advertised as being able to take the sting out of commuting on a tow path and conquer a local bridleway.
