My Virgin connection has been down only a few times in the 10+ years we've had it here. Certainly doesn't seem any worse than any other internet provider I've experienced. Shit, our work connectivity has been worse than my home connection.
Still, I resent the constant cost creep and having to call them every fucking year to haggle a lower price and I want to ditch the TV and landline options I don't use to try and max out my savings.

I guess it depends where you are, when we had it the connection slowed to almost a stop in the evening peak (8-10pm ish), it was obviously a contention ratio issue. And I was talking to a lady on our current road (E17, was N1 back then) recently who was having exactly the same problem. Also the people on our road seem to have constant problems judging by the WhatsApp messages.
Cost creep is probably hard to avoid tbh, I had to do that every time my contract ran out with Plusnet before we got Community Fibre. And CF is £25 a month for 1Gbps for two years, but it's supposed to be half price so fully expecting it will go up to £50+ at the end of the contract, but we'll see...
'Is anyone else's Virgin down?' is a constant question on our street WhatsApp, which would be excusable if you couldn't get both Community Fibre and Openreach options on our road.
I had it in 2010 and it was unreliable then and is now 13 years later - can't understand why anyone stays with them if there are other options.
If anyone wants to ditch 'em for Community Fibre my referral link will get us both a £100 Amazon voucher, apparently...
