  • They seem to have a minimum spend of €165 for UK orders now
They do knock off the VAT, which implies it will be liable on arrival in the UK

Not specifically cheaper than UK, but they have what I want in stock, and no one on this island seems to have it.

  • Godam Monsta JDM.

  • Anyone have an idiots guide to brushless motors?

I kinda understood turns on brushed motors, now I am looking at brushless and it is all turned upside down.

would 2s lipo and a 3300kv motor be "reasonable" for a car park thrasher?
looking for faster than a sport tuned silvercan, but not ludicrous
(might even turn it into a drift machine)
    Or is 4000kv better suited?

(or if my questions not phrased correctly, apologies)

  • KV rating is a similar thing to turns afaik.

    A good guide below.

    https://blog.ampow.com/rc-brushless-motor-size-chart-choose-the-best/

The excerpt attached basically tells you to find the motor KV around 30K rpm for your battery size.

So 3600 KV would be about right for 2S.

  • Incredible detail.

  • That glance from the co-driver is very "Samir... you're breaking the car!!!"

  • Ha! I love that clip.

I’ve got some tinkering planned for today - fitting a better servo saver to the Lunch Box.

And also a new model arriving. Plasma Edge II, which I’ll paint first and the decide on - and order - upgrades and servo*

*held back on this until I know how much room there is.

  • 10t seems to be the bashing sweet spot.

They have a lot more torque than brushed so you have to ensure your drive is up to it.

Huge improvement - the stock Lunch Box servo saver, I couldn’t get centred. Fitted one from Kimbrough.

  • The stretched tyres on the Beetle are great. JDM FTW.

  • Heh. Yeah they remind me of karting tyres.

  • I'd welcome paint ideas for the new Plasma Edge body on the TT02B. The box art is wank, IMO. I'm thinking something understated - maybe red or blue or both, but unsure what shades. And then just with classic Tamiya branding/logos, a number and a few sponsors like Koni or K&N.

Anyone know / got any good decal/sticker sheets that you think I might like, based on that description?

  • Check out screenprintdigital. 👌

  • I'm thinking something understated - maybe red

Had a little chuckle at this

  • Ah you know what I mean! XD

  • Gulf racing?

  • Been looking for a TT-02r kit, none in the UK at the moment.
Looked into the hop ups in the box and seeing if it is worth buying a regular TT02 and getting them separately, much more spendy!
Quick goggle (not searching for cheapest, just an overview) and the hop ups alone cost over £130, on a £140 kit.
No wonder it is always OOS.

might have to pre-order one and hope it comes in.

  • Get an XV01 pls

    Or the new XV02.

  • It's on the radar, but I cannot get a Volvo 850 estate shell for XV0x

edit: Will a TT02 shell fit an XV01?

    XV01:
    Length: 434mm
    Width: 188mm
    Height: 150mm
    Wheelbase: 257mm

    Volvo shell: 190mm x 257mm

Slightly wider shell, but 1mm each side is negligible

  • Should fit.👌
