Can anyone recommend a bedside alarm clock? Small, no ticking and with an ascending alarm that starts at an incredibly quiet level...

Love those oyster quartz , as worn by messner and habler on Everest . I turned one down at c £1.5k . Thinking on it more though , the potential crazy fixing costs would stop me buying it, same reason I would not buy an omega marine mega quartz , although I love the style ..

Alarm on your garmin? Set it to vibrate only. Mind you, it did used to make me jump so much that I woke the missus which wasn't always appreciated...

Are there any other names for an automatic watch? Is that the right definition for a seconds hand that moves continuously?
