  • If I make a complaint to the council would that be a logical escalation?

With those tyre tracks evidencing a lengthy illegal drive on the footway, I'd probably go straight to the police. The pub isn't to blame, the GXO driver needs a call from the plod.

  • So it's just an FYI, not a instruction to do anything

  • I'd assume so but I've never done it so couldn't say for certain.

  • This is a police matter - obstruction. As far as I know the local authority parking enforcement can't do it. This photo is all you'd need to prove a couple of offence that they should deal with. Take it to a police station and ask to speak to an officer not the civvie desk person. Tell the officer your story show the evidence (time, day, date, place) and then ask for the officer's details. That's about all you can do.
Malcom Wilson is the CEO of GXO, you could contact him and ask him (think of the children) How many pedestrians have to die before your employees start parking lawfully? etc.

  • Don't forget to mention it's next to one of London's busiest hospitals. Think of the sick and the children.

  • Yes.

So if they were removed 15 days the company would be in breach of the companies act.

  • Is that a bad thing?

  • Asking for a, er, friend

  • Technically no, the company secretary needs to file a new registrar of directors to affect the removal.

Can't remember what's the actual steps are.

  • Electrician changed our consumer board last year, said he'd sign it off when he was due back to do some work on some sockets in a different area once the room was plastered in a couple of weeks. He'd been reliable over a few visits to that point (lights, dishwasher, extractor etc), so, fine.

Obviously he's fucked off despite months of chasing. I've ended up doing the sockets myself. We're not planning on selling/moving any time soon but will need it certified (don't think there was any other notifiable work done). What are my options? I don't mind paying someone else to do the work (as we never fully paid the first guy) but obviously they can't sign someone else's work off. Can I get them to disassemble and reassemble or something?

When we first spoke to the original guy on the phone he said he was registered and I took his word at that (recommended through a friend). I can't see him on any register though. If he is, is there a way I can pursue him through one? Trading standards?

Retrain as a spark and self certify?

Basically will an EICR suffice if I look elsewhere or is it worth it / even possible to get an EIC from a new spark?

  • There is a third party verification option but you're supposed to have arranged that a registered electrician will come in and certify a non-registered electricians work before the work takes place. It's also not a very popular option with registered electricians.

Probably best to contact a registered electrician and ask them if they would certify the work. It's a mixture of work, they need to establish that all of the current regs are being satisfied and test each circuit to get the zs values which allow them to check the breakers will operate properly. It's a combination of EICR and testing which should have taken place when the work was done.

You might have to contact a few before you find one who's interested or will do it at a price you can stand.

  • Has anyone had ACL and meniscus reconstruction within the last 10 years?
After some advice 4 months into my rehabilitation.
    Cheers.

  • What size seatpost clamp do I need for a 26.4 seatpost please?
    Thanks

  • Most likely 28.6 if it's a steel frame

  • My girlfriend bought a couple of Elton John at the O2 tickets in 2018 which, due to various issues, has been rearranged to next Thursday.

She no longer wants them (originally planned to go with her mum but that's no longer feasible) so would like to resell them but it looks like tickets are being "delivered" through the O2 venue app or some such balls. Any ideas how/if resale could work with this, anyone been in a similar situation, the info online is sparse?

  • Anyone know what inserts fit TRP InPlace brake pad holders? I currently have pink-coloured Koolstop ones in my TRP Eurox cantis and would like to replace them like-for-like, but don't know if the fitment is road, mtb, cx, canti-specific or what.

  • don't know if the fitment is road, mtb, cx, canti-specific

Measure them. 55mm=road pads, 70mm=MTB. Pretty sure the TRP CX cantis use road cartridges (Shimano pattern), but it's easy enough for you to check for yourself.

  • Adverts.ie is what I use mainly, you might have luck there

  • Nice one, thanks. Didn’t realise it was that straightforward with the bewildering choice of pads available!

  • I drew a diagram of my garden in fusion 360

How would I go about printing a birds eye view onto a peice of paper?

    Cheers

  • Navigate to the view you want in the modelling tab, switch to render, download the completed render, print as you would for any picture

  • Thanks!

I'll give that a go. Can you force it to include gridlines?

  • Piece-of-paper menu > New Drawing From Design

  • Can you force it to include gridlines?

If you want render+grid you'll need to create the grid as a texture/decal/model. If you're less worried about realistic look, you can just capture image in the modelling environment and whatever grid is visible will be captured along with the model
