Re: the NO/gas and air/Entonox a couple of pages back.
I understood it was being replaced in hospitals with Penthrox aka 'the green whistle' for environmental reasons, also safer - so patients can self-administer as much as they need.
I got to suck on some a couple of years back. Guess it worked for pain relief, just felt very comfortable and a bit out of it. Not that exciting really.
