Yes, actual claws touched cones and a small nik in one... but then he went back repeatedly to try again as to him it sounds like cardboard which he loves.
Cost to replace cones: 1/2 the cost of a single speaker and extraordinary wait times and hassle.
Cost to cat proof speakers behind brass mesh in a custom walnut housing by a carpenter: 1/10 the cost of a single speaker and done fairly quickly (once a carpenter was found) and I love the look it will produce.
Speaker grilles coming along nicely... should be done by Sunday.
Just need oiling and the brass mesh placed between the two walnut layers and sandwiched in (dampened by speaker foam tape).
