I have the top one of those two in the photo - works well, I found it a bit annoying at first as it takes a 2 sec press to turn on rather than a quick tap (cue the tiny violins) but you just get used to it. Perhaps not the quickest in adding up weight as you add but wouldn't call it slow either.
Only needs charging every 3 months more or less but mine doesn't let me know it's low on batteries until it's too late. It's USB-C though, so a two minutes charge gives you enough to do whatever you were going to do before charging it properly.

Are there any other reliable rechargeable scales at the same price point or below the Black Mirror, or is that simply the best bang for the buck? Mine chews through batteries and has started playing up and adding/subtracting grams when I press the tare button. Don't wanna risk any of the no-name identical rechargeable scales Amazon offer from China as they have distinctly mixed/fake seeming reviews, e.g.:
