Did the drive side the other day, huge difference from before. I suppose that's 10,000 miles for you, even with cleaning the bearings up as best you can and whacking in new grease, it's not the same as new bearings.
But to replace them you need to remove the weather seal. They're made of a thin metal and if you distort one whilst removal to gain access to the bearing race, you will have trouble pressing it back into the hub shell (or driver if you're doing the drive side ones).
