Nigel Lawson's passing is a tragedy for the BBC in finding someone to provide 'balance' in climate change debates.
Otherwise, fuck him, hope it was slow, painful and lonely.

Here's the BBC enabler for Liar Lawson's opinions:

Enabler yet redeemed perhaps
I felt a physical sensation of relief at being able after decades to give an unambiguous political answer. Having left the BBC, I could tell that simple, obvious truth.

Hagiographic obit from the Grun:
Not one word about the devastation he caused.
-
• #10164
Hagiographic yes, but it's not the actual obituary, though. They don't seem to have published that yet, which is in itself a little odd.

“Paying tribute, Rishi Sunak posted a picture of himself “

The actual obit always comes out a day or two later. Here it is now, still pretty hagiographical, doesn't call him a cunt once in 2,000 words - an objective obit would do that even if it only lasted a single sentence:

The Morning Star, showing The Guardian how to do it right:
https://morningstaronline.co.uk/article/e/lawsons-death-moment-confront-grim-legacy-privatisation
Lawson’s signature policies were bank deregulation and the fire-sale of Britain’s public assets.
Today millions feel their consequences. The soaring price we pay for energy and water just to line the pockets of transnational corporations is one legacy. The pollution of our waterways and beaches by suppliers whose raison d’etre is profit alone is another. The longest pay squeeze in 200 years ever since the financial meltdown of 2008 is a third. -

I was listening to radio 4 yesterday morning and I'm not sure who it was but one of Thatcher's cretins was lording privatisation as his greatest legacy and how brilliant it was. I couldn't believe the gall of it when all of the privatised services are in an absolutely catastrophic state.

RIP Nora Forster, having suffered the tragedies of Alzheimer's, seeing her wonderful daughter die young and being married to a massive butterist twat.

I’ve never met either of them but from what I’ve read and seen on the TV over the years it would seem they both loved each other dearly and he was a good husband.
