Has anyone got experience of riding clipless on a Brompton? I've read a post about pedal asysmetry causing knee issues, is this a thing? Its for some touring rather than regular commuting

Also looking for a tubolito review , if they are lighter and stronger why wouldn't you replace when your next puncture happens

aliexpress has TPU inner tubes, i am using them, but these days brompton is strictly a pub/takeaway collection bike

Thanks Ryan.
Did the drive side the other day, huge difference from before. I suppose that's 10,000 miles for you, even with cleaning the bearings up as best you can and whacking in new grease, it's not the same as new bearings.

Shit.

Brilliant, just do it

Just replace the bearings. It's a perishable item and you don't need special tools to replace them.

I used spds for several years whilst commuting through London. Never felt any different to any other bike with clipless pedals to be honest, I quite liked it. Can’t fold the pedals obviously but I really didn’t like the stock pedals so was happy with this drawback. Didn’t have any greater or lesser chance of catching my heal than on normal pedals, but smaller feet so YMMV.
Have changed back to (non folding) flats as its used less for commuting and more for convenience so knowing I can just ride in any shoes works better.

But to replace them you need to remove the weather seal. They're made of a thin metal and if you distort one whilst removal to gain access to the bearing race, you will have trouble pressing it back into the hub shell (or driver if you're doing the drive side ones).

Took about an hour of Googling before I could find the part number. I did also read somewhere that they can be an arse to fit when new. I have had similar issues in the past on weather seals on classic Mini brake calipers. They can be a right bugger to fit!

What’s wrong with TPU tubes?

Can't be patched if punctured?

I've done over 4500km on a Brompton with SPDs. No problems with them so far, except when my right hand XTR pedal failed and the pedal body came off the spindle.

What’s the roller wheel of choice at the mo? Want to replace the litepro ones on the rear rack/wheel extender …

ABEC-7
Bit extreme.
But they clearly know their audience.

I like the Joseph Kousac ones here https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/brompton-spares-accessories/joseph-kuosac-front-m6-easy-wheel-set-for-bromptons-c38c-silver/

I’m thinking of getting a titanium seatpost for my Brompton but I need the extra length of a telescopic seatpost - is there a titanium one available anywhere?
Frameset, new, assembled but never ridden.
£699 posted.
(Previously sold at £795 but got lost in the post for 10 weeks before being returned to me!)
