I backed it on Kickstarter when it was still called the Rafino. It works. It's troublesome to clean though.
I used it religiously when I got it and combined with good practice elsewhere, allowed me to replicate brews over and over.
Any efficiency and seamlessness in your work flow can go in the bin once you start sifting. It's long.
Before I got it, my brews were stalling from fines clogging my paper. This stopped after I was sifting but there are far less fiddly ways to improve your brews if this happens and I should have saved my money!
If your grinder is poorer quality, you can re-grind your boulders but when sifting, you'll possibly have lots of fines to utilise somehow afterwards.
Instead, I'd invest in a better grinder. Or a paper that traps fines better.
Or if you are looking for a new toy that can improve consistency, I recommend the Lilydrip.I now only use my Kruve on a Sunday morning if I've got something a little more special to brew... Geshas or pink bourbons or some other such frivolity.
The repeatability and consistency is reassuring to me when using expensive beans.I think Fellow has a single screen sifter in a smaller footprint for aboit £30. I've not looked into it more than knowing about its existence but the price point makes it accessible enough to buy and try even if its not going to make it into my daily brew routine.

Cleaned my gaggia mdf grinder yesterday. It’s a great grinder, but the amount of coffee it retains borders on comical.
I’m tempted to remove the carousel dosed bit and replace with a sort of silo or a tube for the coffee to come down through. Anyone else ever nodded one of these

Anyone using a nice decanter with a clever dripper? I just use my thermos atm but it's not the best for pouring when making coffee for my wife.
-
• #23880
I 'decant' into my Kinto flask, the inner lid is shaped for pouring nicely, plus it is insulated so outer lid on keeps brew warm for later.

They look nice but I already have a couple of flasks and this would be just for when we're having coffee together so no need for another thermal cup. Although they are nice and I might just keep looking at them for the next few months before talking myself into one.
Annoyingly the v60 decanter is just a bit too big for the clever dripper.

Charity shop glass beaker. They're everywhere!

Yeah but do that have that sweet specialty coffee shop street cred?

Haven't tried it myself, but noticed this recently in Muji and thought it might be good for pourovers:

Street cred?
No chance. For a decade and a half I've been saving the labels from every speciality bean I've ever tried.
I have a scrapbook for them.
Instead of compiling the scrapbook and annotating my clippings with notes and opinions, I just have a carrier bag full of coffee-themed trash and a virginal scrapbook. Can't even coffee nerd properly.

OOOH!
That's something I know I don't need but will probably buy.
Thanks. -

Tried one of the V60 servers? Think they come in 3 sizes, so one of them may well fit nicely.

Ha, same for me with beer and whisky. That next level of nerdery just ruins the fun for me so a photo and memory is what I stick to.
@exteroceptive that looks the job.
@mmccarthy I've seen them but never in real life, I think all the necks have the same diameter but different bodies, so don't want to take a blind punt because if it's too big it'll never get used.

Looks like the Clever sits on top of both Harios 02 size server designs. (From a quick Google image search at least).
Although, are there two different size Clever drippers?

I backed the 78s have been waiting on an 'endgame' grinder that wasn't a totally ridiculous price and it looks like this is it. My 10 year old Vario has served me well. Might get steel burrs for it and have it for filter

Nice, I've got the larger size clever dripper so it'll definitely work. I'll get one with my next coffee order. Cheers.

There are two sizes but the base is the same on them. One just extends the sides up a bit more.

• #23893
I might just keep looking at them for the next few months before talking myself into one.
This is how I ended up with one.

Waaqa coffee, ordered a couple of fruity light roast bags in their introductory offer.
Not going to venture out of my comfort zone again, the blend from redemption roasters was fine, not tried their beans before but do order take-outs occasionally from the Dulwich branch.
The bag from a Brighton roasters was very poor, dark beans and it tasted of roasted coffee and nothing else.
James Gourmet Coffee and Collona, sorry for not being in touch i’ll place an order soon... -

@withered_preacher
Only took 19 hours but I finally got it.
It was certainly a pretty out there flavour, not just your run-of-the-mill ashy flavour you might associate with people not liking a darker roast.
Not sure if it's something you're interested in but I've still got 600g or so of green beans if you want to give roasting a go at some point!
