  • Trailer newby here, any advice appreciated,

I'm looking to transport a 30kg heatpress to local events. It's a heavy, dense weight, 70cm x 42cm, so figure the weight lowdown on a trailer would be best (over a cargo bike or rack) plus could be mounted to any bike, and also used to transport by foot/train if needed.

Any recommendations between 2 or 1 wheeled? I'm guessing with the width & size of the press, the only option might be the squarer 2-wheel models. Any difference in handling? Current plan would be v infrequent use, over relatively short distances, and ideally would store flat when not in use. Budget would be whatever it's worth spending money on ie, not the cheapest if the bearings turn to dust in 6 months and it chucks cargo into the road.

Finally any other pointers would be appreciated, what to look out for when riding, anything I should adapt, optimising visibility/flags etc.

  • I second @platypus - I have a carry freedeom Y Large

    • load bed is 700x500 (max load is 800x600)
    • The wheels easily detach for flat pack storage
    • German build quality
    • Its modular attachment; so you can swap the arm side, add an arm extender or even turn it into a handcart etc
    • It comes with a flag pole holder
