The bars I’m looking at are sold in great condition….
I will specifically ask about history of crashes.

I will specifically ask about history of crashes.
They'll probably not tell you, and over tightening the stem can cause as many problems.
Depending on what your platinum service includes, I'd possibly still charge extra to fit bars with internal routing, especially if your bike has internal routing and/or hydraulics, it can be an awful lot of work.

Platinum includes full rebuild. So all new cables anyhow.

will a sram NX 11 speed rear mech work with a sram x9 10 speed trigger shifter?
-
• #3731
X9 is exact actuation and NX is x-actuation according to Google, so no.

I have this Ofmega ds cup that my Campa tool keeps slipping on. Any tips on how to fixate the tool?

A long bolt with a big enough washer to stop the spanner slipping off, but not tight or you won't be able to undo the cup. And make sure you're turning it the right way.

If you don’t want to keep the cup I’ve found welding a bar on there being the best way to get a stubborn BB cup out of a frame

BSA or Italian?

ITA

Threaded rod/long bolt, handful of washers and nuts.
Bolt will be preferable but threaded rod works the same.
Insert bolt/rod from NDS with a washer or two.
You'll need a long socket to hold the bolt/threaded rod with a nut. Tighten down from both sides.
Now put force from the NDS only, the bolt and nuts should tighten against the BB cup and loosen it.
If the nut moves, tighten more before repeating above!

Saving this to the list of lfgss wisdom, many thanks!

It's just a 5 minute job, how much?!?
-
• #3742
It's drive side if it's BSA though, never failed shall I say!
-
• #3743
How?
-
• #3744
Because BSA drive side cups have a left hand thread so the bolt tightens clockwise.... Undoing the cup.

• #3745
Hot water and ice.

• #3746
And a 2ft pipe wrench? Impressive stats.
-
• #3747
How does that work? Hot water on the frame by the BB and ice on the top of the seat post? Then mole grips and brute force?
-
• #3748
Thanks! 3' actually plus cheater bar if needed and/or the vice.
-
• #3749
Yup, ice on seat post then hot water on seat tube and repeat at least a handful of times.

Trying to help a friend sort out some new headset bearings for a Boardman CX Comp 2017
https://www.cyclingweekly.com/reviews/cyclo-cross-bikes/boardman-cx-comp
The ones I told him to order turned out to be totally wrong.
We appear to need two identical races that are approx 41mm - was confused by tapered headtube but it appears that the fork is actually a straight steerer and the races are the same. Can anyone tell me what he should order?
Possibly these?

Yeah, I thought that if used handlebars are selling for hundreds, they they wouldn’t be prone to failure!
Thanks for the confirmation.
Would an alternative bike shop be better than to fit the used bars then?
Im not great with bike maintenance and I’m getting a platinum service so I might as well some a pro to fit the bars inclusive of the service.
