  • I don't think I said that. I said I choose different front and rear tyres to optimise different things.

    On my TT bike I have a skinnier tyre on the front - aero
    On my gravel bike or MTB I typically have a knobbier/wider tyre on front to increase grip.

    It's all going to depend on what you're riding on, how fast you're going, what wheels you have, etc.
