  • How big are the gaps? Biggest gap here I filled almost as soon as we moved in. I used a few layers of ready mixed easifill and it hasn't fallen out or cracked since (2+ years ago). If they are deep, you can get lengths of foam (called "caulk savers", I believe) to stuff in the gap first so you use less filler. I used that for the gaps around the veluxes when they were replaced (about 10mm wide and in places infinitely deep as it went into the roof void). Or use expanding foam and finish over the top with a filler. Expanding foam can be a messy fucker though if you've not used it before, and a bastard to clean up if you don't realise the nozzle is blocked, try to use it and then have it pop all over your TV console...........

I like easifill, but recently got a tub of Toupret fine filler which is lovely in comparison (IMO), and sands super easy. Not sure how good that would be at a deep fill though.

It’s not for a deep fill, just splodged a load of easyfill 60 over some chasing which has been bonded first and the Tourpret fine is going to be 1-2mm only, it does feather out beautifully though.
