CSB and all that, but I bought a pair of "new" carbon wheels from their ebay outlet, packaged dreadfully and the rear brake track was goosed. Tried to fob me off with a partial refund to keep them, so 100% unsurprised.

The further along that list of brands you read the more it starts to read like a rave poster you used to see at the traffic lights

They've always survived on the low budget stuff. Walk into a little bike shop you'd normally turn your nose up at and there's a fair chance the stock is half their's half Raleigh's, and they're the kinda place that's going to be hit hardest by people not being able to afford cheap bikes or cheap parts for bikes at high volumes and low margins. They did have jagwire and a wethepeople freecoaster I'd had my eye on for ages but was never in stock, the rep was nice round here too.

There's the management buyout not too long ago too.

Were they too bullish? Or were they sold a lemon?

Fuck knows, I never bought too much of their stuff, it was generally pretty shitty.

I do like certain Kenda tyres, some of their BMX stuff and when needs must, tubes and chains.

6 months in, the writing would have been on the wall and yeah, should have been salvageable.

I suspect a prepack administration and someone else (founders perhaps?) will pick up the pieces.

Oh yeah, they carried loads of stuff, not all bad but were mostly budget minded with a lot of things for people who ride bikes rather than "cyclists" which isn't bad but the first to get squeezed by more online shopping and then people just being worse off.

Hmm I bought these and they sent me the Zipp SL80 compact drop in sl88 packaging . After the refund they said they couldn’t replace it due to stock discrepancies but noticed they didn’t take this down. Buyer beware !
