Also tempted to pick up the RE2 remake as never played RE2. Is it 'scarier' than Village?
Nope

Super creepy is what I'd call that section. I also spent half the game thinking it was Nicolas Cage voicing the metal dude.
Nope I didn't play RE7 first.
I'll give RE2 remake a go then, think it's only about £7 at the moment.

Only an hour into RE4 remake, it's very good, really enjoying it.

I already regret buying a new GPU and a bunch of games, I just don't have the patience to play anything...hoping that changes when TLOU comes out next week which I had pre-ordered

Whats trying your patience? Difficulty? Just not getting engaged?
Could try some "crack" games like civ or factorio

I just feel like I can't be bothered when there's any kind of learning curve. I used to love grand strategy games, in fact EU3 might be my most played game ever, but nowadays I give up early if I can't get things straight away.
I have 20h already on RDR2 though, most of them just riding across the map and enjoying the views. Stunning game.

Grind is out, then.

Fair. I think thats vaguely the opposite of what i predominantly enjoy from games so hard for me to suggest anything.

Personally I can't stand the American dubbed voice, there's a subtitled version here:

Will be booking a few days off for that release I think!

lots of complaints about TLOU for PC, apparently it's very badly optimised. I just finished downloading and the game won't even launch for me (i7-7700, RTX A2000)

Might have to hide the Switch from my daughter for a week or two also

TotK is finally the excuse I need to buy a good projector and take a month off work.

Its perfectly fine here. 5800X, 3080. Solid 60fps at 4k (DLSS quality)
Having paid full price twice already (PS3 and PS4 remastered) I laughed when they wanted same again for the PS5 version. Couldn't resist it on PC tho.

...and then five mins later it crashes.
Stupid PCs.

Long shot, but does anyone have an old Wii u pro controller they want to sell?

My child will be 13 in the summer and after being up all night at a sleepover using a VR headset would like one for their birthday.
We have an Xbox One.
Is there a recommended headset? I know nothing about this, I just play Minecraft.

No VR possible on Xbox.
You've got three options:
- Standalone VR - Oculus Quest 2 is the best option here
- PC VR - if you have a PC, you could buy something like the HTC Vive or the HP Reverb
- Playstation - Buy a PS5 and a PSVR 2
I would advise option 1.
- Standalone VR - Oculus Quest 2 is the best option here

Oh. Maybe they are after a standalone thing then. They mentioned Oculus.
Checks prices :(

Probably a good idea to check what they were actually playing on first. I've got the Quest 2 (which has jumped up £100 since I bought one about a year ago!). It's decent enough but would expect it to be a fair bit behind something like PSVR or a decent gaming PC with a Vive or similar.
Also, the game library is nothing to write home about (and given it's all done through Meta's store, you're not going to be getting Steam-level sales either). I picked mine up primarily for Super Hot VR (which is excellent to be fair). Ultrawings 2 is another very enjoyable title. The Job/Vacation Simulator titles are decent enough too.
Also, also, the strap it comes with is very difficult to get a comfortable position with for extended periods of time. I picked up one of these which remedied the issue (https://yogesvr.com/products/head-strap-compatible-with-oculus-quest) but it's another bit of kit that really should've come as standard.
It's decent enough. But in retrospect I'd be hard pressed to spend £500 or so (unit, additional strap and 1 or 2 games) for "decent enough".
Though having a virtual cinema player is a decent way to watch films now that I've moved to the arse end of nowhere and no decent cinemas for around 50 miles.

I've casually looked at the PSVR2
I've casually checked my bank balanceMugglevision for the foreseeable future

If it helps - I bought one and have only managed to find time to use it for 3 hours so far since launch so £183 an hour.
Nah you can't have played House Beneviento
Great game though I agree, did you play RE7 first?
