Ale, Beer, Stout appreciation

  • Following Putty talk from a few weeks ago, Verdant have announced a 10% Puttty Triple IPA today.

  • A lot of men announcing their erections over it in the Instagram post comments.

  • Fuck’s sake. I’d packed my annual rant away until next January.

  • Can anyone recommend a Verdant beer that's actually good? I can't remember one that's not mildly disappointing

  • I had a can of 'Alternative Currency' an East India porter I remember being pretty good !
And I've had some Verdant cask recently which was pretty decent tbf. No hype attached. Apparently when Skinners went under Verdant started putting out some cask to fill the void.

  • Verdant Pulp varies between amazing and meh they are very inconsistent.

I just look for Pressure Drop stuff instead, never had anything shit from them

  • ^this

  • Always really like Neal gets things done, but havent had it in a while. Our tastes may not align though, I think they’re consistently pretty decent

  • Disgusted they used my favourite Slayer song title on a 0.5% beer.

  • I enjoyed this the other night as a lighter session beer. Normally prefer the IPA/DIPA/TIPA stuff though.

  • Mmm, Pressure Drop. Crab Facts was a delight.

I think I may have had Light Bulb and enjoyed it actually

  • In Iceland and the hotel bar was far too loud for me to hear much other than India Pale Ale so not really sure what I’ve got here. Definitely tastes more ‘juicy’ or New England but I can’t decipher the receipt, highly likely it’s just the entry for ‘seasonal beer no. 4’ or something. Very full and rich though whatever it is.

  • Oak cask-conditioned Trappist?

  • Oh that was the house red Malbec. The ‘┌lfr•n 0.4’ was the beer I had.

  • 10.5 Thursday. Hic.

  • From the cellar, bottled in 2019, delicious, smoky peaty whisky flavours.

  • If you're out west you might want to check out these guys and if, like me, you've stood in the freezing cold drinking their beers, you might want to chip in for their new roof...

  • Wasn't aware Diageo has bought up a chunk of Covent Garden and is basically opening Guiness World with microbrewery etc

  • Rumours flying around that Brew by Numbers is up for sale. Lots of people I know in the industry have received emails offering a brewery up for sale which very much sounds like them. London based with two taprooms. Can't say I've drank any BBNo for a while, it's all become a bit homogeneous and boring.

  • They have been doing a lot of special offers recently.

I've been signed up to their monthly boxes for the past few years (actually I might not be any more, they appear to have cancelled it without telling me after I complained about their poor service) and although still decent I don't think they are as good as they were.

  • This is tasty, 11.5% Rum Barrel Aged.
