Cinturato Velo get good reviews as fast rolling but puncture proof
-

They're bombproof but I found them so slow and uninspiring to ride. Michelin Power Tubeless are absolutely excellent though, quick, durable and long lasting.

Billy Bonkers is more of a pump track tyre no? I'm running Big Apples and they seem OK from light use to date.

Personally I'm not finding them that slow...but yes to pretty boring, which if it continues to translate to decent protection and wear then all good.

Conti Contact Urban seems well regarded, just not a big fan of the looks/graphics and the reflex stripes.
Just use a posca pen to stealth them out.
IME They are sooo much lighter and faster rolling than say big apples / big bens (that I’ve also used quite a lot)

Really liking Conti GP urban,35mm wide at the moment, might even change the Audax bike to these for Welsh rides - no tubeless option yet, but they are lovely with latex tubes

Following up a from a few posts last year and which commuter/tour tyres to go for, @MCamb recommended the Continental Contact Urban.
I've now done over 1000 miles of commuting and not had a single puncture.
Pretty reasonably priced too when compared to marathon plus etc.
I plan to take them short term touring later this year. -

Any recommendations for fast 26" tyres to be used in dry conditions/hard pack?
Imagine there's quite limited choice and I've only really been able to find Panaracer Comet Hard Pack, but no idea whether they are any good. Looks like they also do the Gravelking SK in 26×2.10.

Kenda Small Block Eight Pro if you can find some.

Just thrown my gravel shits in the bin as they're shit.
Suggestions on omething 35c wide that works tubless and wont puncture just looking at Strada Bianca. Also I'm not spending 70 quid on some 'handmade' challabge. Can't see schwable one speed 35c in stock

One of the Cinturato options? No IRL experience with the grav options, just the Velo.

Thanks but too much tyre. I had the slick gravel king, want something for 95% tarmac.

Have just orered the 35c flavour of the velo for my partner, seem to be a thread favourite for reliable tarmac duty

Thanks! Not cheap eh

Vittoria Terreno Dry? Great grip, durable and hard wearing.

I've been using Terravail Ramparts for a few weeks now and like them. They feel as smooth and fast as the GK slicks I was using before and haven't got a puncture yet. Then again, I think I'm the only person in the world who likes and doesn't get punctures with Gravelkings so maybe I'm not the best judge.

I love the GK but they refuse to stay tubless now, and so I needed to put inner tubes in, now they puncture. panracer can't seems to make tyres an accurate size.

Tereeno zero seems a better fit and I do like Vittoria. Good idea. Use is 95% on road.
-
• #9695
Ah ok, I've never used them tubeless. I must have got lucky, done thousands of miles on GKs on various bikes and only had a couple of punctures.

Hutchinson overide 38, I'm on m'y second set, they go up easily on my non tubeless rims. I ve had no punctures.
They come out of the same factory as the Pirellis, they throw roughly the same numbers on the Tyre rolling résistance data sheet.
They coped well with the rocky south, they do very well in the Alps

Split board biking, cool!
Thanks good recommendation will look

Thanks! Not cheap eh
A key tactic for me was looking at the price of the new Grand Prix 5000 AllSeason which comes in 35c and feeling like the Pirelli were a bargain. Interested to hear what you find!

What's the go-to for super grippy 26" on-road tyres? 50mm ish wide.
Mainly interested in grip cos it's for carrying my kid to nursery.
Not at all bothered about weight or rolling resistance but I guess puncture protection would be a bonus. -
• #9700
predictably- I’m going to say Continental contact urban would be my choice
GP5000 --> 4 Seasons. It'll just be for some touring. Don't mind slower than 5000s but want good rolling and more puncture resistance... cobble stones are on the menu.
@samdaniel yeah i saw the price tag and closed the tab lol
