Just to make sure where on the same page, I meant the blue track bike not the puch. But you’re right, there are some differences as well. However, the seat tube lug cluster and the wide, short and stubby seatstay caps do seem rather characteristic. Then again, iirc, plume was just a shop and didn’t build the frames themselves - so even if it was a Plume, it would remain unclear who the builder is.

My bad, I thought you ment the Puch!

Thx both! And thanks for helping with the ID @Sig_Arlecchino I checked some details and compared them to the closeups to the Plume Vainqueur. There are similarities indeed and it might be a winner, but who knows...
I made some closeups from the lugs and joints. You can see how shit the paintjob is haha. :P

And more. The fork is very similar indeed.
By the way I've just finished building the bike up, I wanna make some photos but it's dark, rainy and extremely windy at the moment of course...
Got a new Izumi black track chain, 44T Miche (non-track unfortunately) chainring and some fresh black Deda bartape. And I've scored some vintage MKS pedals, with Christophe toe cages and all. I've never felt bearings this smooth in a pedal before...

So, here we are at the moment. I'll need a 100 mm stem instead of this 110 one and black toe clip straps. Chainline is almost too good to be true. Toe overlap is proper insane though.
Unknown, menacing orange substance on the brick wall gives a nice contrast to the blue frame I reckon...

Couldn't find a spot with good lighting, but here we go: Marin ready for the season. Got a new stem, fiddled some with the drivetrain and ditched the B17.
Finally got a new job, which is a lot closer, albeit still quite far. Planning to sometimes commute door-to-door with this thing, after the weather hits about 10 degrees or so. 50 mins each direction according to Google Maps. Excited. Depending on the "trial rides" I might actually invest in better tyres.

Only tyres you need for a bike like that are Continental Contact Urban. Roll really nice and I have yet to puncture on three different sets - including the cargo.

Continental Contact Urban
I was thinking Contact Speeds but then I read that they lose a lot of grip in wet conditions. The Urban looks good at first glance, I'll investigate, thanks!
Also, the Overdrives are 38C wide, I would prefer something like 32 or 35 with these guards. -

The review on Bicycle Rolling Resistance is pretty thorough. And I have to say my experience mirrors their findings.
Continental Grand Prix Urban are lighter (and feature a black reflective stripe), but they are also much pricier! -

I now own a Fixie Inc Floater. Undecided what I'm gonna do with it. It was really cheap and unfortunately it's my size too... It's in great nick overall and fully original. If I keep it the Thickslicks and the ridiculous ergo bars will be ritually sacrificed. But most likely I'll just clean it, fix it up completely then sell it with minimal profit.
Meanwhile I've listed the blue track bike for sale, if any forum members wanna come and pick it up in Rotterdam I'll give you a good deal.
Toe overlap is a tad too much and my knees are shit, but hey, now I can say that I've owned a proper track bike. Might even change my mind and delist it in a few days... -

Still loving the redwood
Also nice idea with the lock
Re SKS fron I chopped the weirdly shaped tip off which made it look much more pleasing

Thanks, me too! Although haven't had much chance to ride it this year so far, weather's not been kind. Hopefully next week this changes...
Thanks for tip on the tip :P might tackle it... -

One day I'll be in the book of Guinness world records as the man who took the worst pictures of his bikes.
Anyways, I might have changed my mind selling this lol. Rides way nicer with risers. Now I'm thinking about getting a coaster brake rear wheel...

Do it!! But not the cheap ones. Go shimano or go vintage. I have coasters on all my track bikes now. It’s literally the best mod. All the skids, none of the stress on already bad knees and no stupid brake levers. My dream is to buy a 496 track and put a coaster brake with an aerodisc cover on it.
Also those fixie inc frames ride pretty ok if you ditch the ugly unicorn fork.

Been sweeping through local ads for a while, but so far zero proper second-hand coaster brake wheels, only 26", wide, steel rim monstrosities haha. I kinda wanna just buy a cheap one from Santafixie to see how it goes... although I'm in no rush with this at all. We'll see, I might even build one, never done that before and gotta start somewhere.

Not crazy cheap but good if you in the eu and consider these hubs sell for over 30€ now.

Thanks a lot for the input! I looked around and I think this is the winner considering components, price and shipping speed:

Is it a good idea to put some protection on the chainstay where the brake's clamp gonna go? Electrical tape? An old inner tyre? -
• #944
I use old innertube, electric tape gets gross in my experience. Or nothing doesn’t move around much outside of install/removal
-
• #945
The coaster wheel is in, now I'm waiting for the some rim tape and a narrow chain to show up. Gearing's gonna be 52-19 for now.
In the meanwhile I've ordered something that I've been lowkey lusting over for the last 10 years, but could never justify the price. It's painted over in a few spots that I'll hopefully be able to carefully remove. Hence it was very cheap. I might even just leave it as is.
Anxiously awaiting for the doorbell to ring...

i had one of those.. and found its flexing truly terrifying. but dentists do need funding for those fancy cervelos.. :D

• #947
I don't plan on riding faster than 15 km/h so hopefully I won't land on my face haha
-
• #948
Spinergys are fine, especially if they have räthe braces… im just too fat to ride them. But as a spoke and coaster brake fan, party on.
-
• #949
Here we go. Thanks for the tips and inspo @young_gun. It's really fun, and yeah good call on the Shimano coaster hub, it brakes like crazy, all other coaster hubs I've tried in the past year are complete garbage compared to this.
Now let's just hope the Spinergy gets here in one piece. And I'll need some platform pedals I guess.

That is banging. Like it a lot 👍
Good work, nicely done! @Sig_Arlecchino I see the similarities but I also see a lot of differences. But I don't know too much about Puch and bike frames, the only thing I know is a Puch Maxi
