Thank you - where are you based and what are your details? Send me a PM when you get a chance.
Quite timely all this, my rear rim just collapsed!

I was going to wait until I cleaned the bike and took some 'nice' photos, but given another week of rain ahead, I don't see the point. 🙄
I wanted to share some pics of my new rear rack for my Omnium, made with great love and skill by the always awesome August Bicycles!
The load has been gradually increasing at job number two, and to avoid making a bigger bag for the front, or having to extend the load forward or upward any further, I decided to design an oversize rear rack for those days when I get the "oh, and can you also take this box?"...or when one overstuffed bag of work takes up too much space to fit the others. I figured just strapping it to a rear rack would be a bit easier.
Gav built the whole rack purely from my drawings and measurements without ever seeing my Omnom in the flesh, and he totally nailed it!
It fits perfectly, and is my new love! 😍
I didn't want regular flattened mounting points, I wanted custom made socket style mounts for better stiffness and a cleaner look. Gav custom machined them from stainless steel. The whole rack is fillet brazed and powdercoated, with a cute little August 'a' in stainless to finish it off.
It's a 300mm x 600mm platform which is as big as I felt comfortable going.
I was also pleasantly surprised that the total weight came in at 1.2kg.Basically I couldn't be happier!
Thank you once again to the ever awesome Gav and Amy at August for always having my back! 😘
August took some great pics HERE too before shipping!

I had a discussion recently with my boss regarding service of GSD's, as we do sell them as well. They are a huge pain in the arse to work around (especially with the clubhouse fort) and usually get abused quite a bit, thats why we'll charge a 350,- Euro flat rate for a service (without parts) in the future (was 189,- before) . Otherwise its not really worth it to work on them.

Nice work by both of you.
I could see that thing taking an abnormal load haulage. -

What trispoke is that?

ICAN. It's done about two years of daily riding so far. 😁

That's great! Looks really beefy for 1.2kg.

I had mine built remotely by Really Useful Bikes in Bristol. They specialise in cargo bikes and import Enviolo hubs, so sent down my old wheel and they rebuilt with a new hub, as well as switching sprocket and aligning the interface correctly. This was important as it meant not needing the sprocket tool or fiddling with interface alignment. Back with me in less than a week. Would recommend!
Would also recommend getting the beefiest version of the Enviolo available - I had the Cargo version and it died in less than 1000km. Now I’ve got the Heavy Duty.

Pleasure, as always dude. The weirder the better when it comes to us working together! xx

Awesome that. Have you got an estimated max load for it? I.e. could one be made to carry a baby seat?

^
Yeah this. -

You wouldn't need anything this hardcore for a bub seat!
What kind of weight are you looking to carry, say up to 20kg for a toddler?

.

Yepp maxi max weight is 18kg I think so that

We're very sorted on the cargo bike front, just thinking aloud really - it looks class.

What's that black circle near your left grip?

Thanks so much for the kind words! It was shockingly nice and light in person too. I say that as the admin side of the business, not the maker. Hahaha.

It's my air horn 😂
The Christmas zombies broke me with the constant stepping out in front of me! -

I thought you'd sent an empty box when I picked it up 😂
-
• #11272
Hahaha. Just a box of farts!
-
• #11273
I just imagine reciving a biiig box, only containing a handwritten note that says: "fart noises"

Getting a lot of grinding noise since I put a new chain my Urban Arrow & guessing the chainwheel wear is the issue (only happens when I put pressure on the pedals). The spec sheet says it's a "Hebie chainring 18T". Anyone one here changed one? Wondering how simple/difficult & if I'd need special tool/s? I have a crank tool that I used to remove the L/h crank when fitting a tracker

before that, worth double checking that your chain is sized and tensioned correctly?
London Green Cycles has a £95 "cargo bike flat fee" so that's the basic inconvenience fee before they start charging for stuff
